Neighbor, how long’s it been since you laughed so hard that your face hurt; since your senses were so flooded with the sights and sounds, smells and tastes of growing up that you’d swear you were back in the 60s and 70s? It’s probably been way, way too long! And that’s why Norman-born Bill Moore just “transmogrified” his wonderful humor series into a full-blown trilogy! Like its hysterical predecessors, Memories of an Okie Boomer 3 showcases Bill’s delightful storytelling gifts. His “Memories” are usually just a couple of pages long, but he packs so much energy and detail and fun into them that you’ll find yourself right there beside him. This time around, you’ll be cracking up watching Ho-Ho and Pokey, pigging out on Jiffy Pop Popcorn and Twinkies, risking life and limb on bikes and in sports battles with your best friend, working overtime to annoy your siblings, and almost getting “murderized to death” at the Navy’s “bottomless” North Base Pool and the Giant Killer Slide on Lindsey Street. If reading that sentence makes your nostrils flair and your heart race. If the thought of horny toads and snapping turtles and leaping beagles makes you smile. Then you’ll definitely want to read this book. And you’ll probably give a dozen as Christmas gifts to friends and family because you know they’ll enjoy them AND because Bill’s Memories will bring back their own childhood memories. And what a gift that is!
